Healthy candied pecans

Wait, healthy? Candied? Yup, that’s right! Here’s how you do it…

First melt butter and REAL maple syrup, then boil for 5 minutes.

Add pecans and stir for another 3-5 minutes. They should just start to candy now. Test buy taking one out and see if there hardening. Be carful not to burn the pecans (or yourself!).

Spread on pan and let sit for about 5 minutes. Or until cool and hard.

I’m justifying having the entire batch…. Now all this is healthy for you, but like everything in moderation of course (sadly). A good healthy amount of pecans is about 15 halves (but I won’t tell if you have the whole 2 cups this recipe makes).

Makes 2 cups candied pecans and takes about 10-15 minutes!

What’s in it?

3 Tb grass fed butter

1/4 cup maple syrup

2 cups Pecans

Pinch of salt

The how to…

  1. First melt butter and maple syrup, then boil for 5 minutes.
  2. Add salt and pecans then cook for another 3-5 minutes until they start to candy. Be carful not to burn them, they burn fast!
  3. Remove from pan and pour on top of parchment paper, let cool down and eat them up! Or toss them on this salad , or put them on a charcuterie board, really whatever excuse you can use to make them!
