Yellow, watermelon? What is that? We were at a local natural food store and saw these things and said we gotta try these.
My little brothers Zeke (6yrs) and Tucker (4yrs), were holding them watermelon and seeing if it can roll down one step, we’ll I was in the kitchen, not realizing it then when I saw them I said that the watermelon will break in half if it falls so let’s put it away. Well being little boys, Zeke handed it to Tucker and then…. it fell….. it broke in half like what I told the boys would happen. At least now they learned to listen to there big sister;)
So then we decided to use it in a fruit salad or melody, we had other fresh fruits on hand that we cut up and threw it all together, then we chopped some of our apple-mint that’s growing like crazy and tossed it in for some freshness! Now, about these yellow watermelons….

What’s about these yellow watermelons? and how are they different from normal watermelons?
Well they actually were the “normal watermelon” before they decided to breed for more lycopene, a compound that makes fruits and veggies that pigment of red. It was there in Africa when they made the red watermelon more popular then the yellow, which in this case makes the yellow that much more fun!!
There high in vitamin C and A which helps support your immune system and healthy skin, yellow watermelons also contains more beta-carotene which helps support better eyes, along with the mango and peaches will help too!! Yellow watermelons are also high in magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium.
Look at these awesome yellow watermelons near you!! Have fun and enjoy eating this fruit melody. You can also totally use regular watermelon and regular mint.
What’s in it? How do ya do it?
Chop up some yellow watermelon in cubes then add any fruit you like, I did pineapple, mango, peaches, and Apple-mint. Serve and enjoy!!! Best on hot sunny days:)
