This past Christmas season my sister, Paisley and I were elves at a local resort that did a fun cruise to the “North Pole”. Anyway, I would bring extra bread to work to share with the other elves and this one was there favorite!!

I used the anything dough I recently published and twisted it into a present then boiled it in baking soda water, brushed with egg, sprinkled with flakey salt and rosemary, then baked to perfection!! 👌🏼

Did you know? Around 610BC a monk twisted leftover bread as a reward to the children for learning their prayers. This iconic shape was to resemble crossed arms for that is how they prayed. He called them “pretiola,” which is Latin for “little rewards.” Now you know. 🙂

What’s in it?
- Anything dough
- 8 cups water
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Flakey salt
- Rosemary stems
How to make it?
- Well, first your gonna head over to this link and make the anything dough:).
- Then, after the dough has risen you shape the dough like a giant pretzel
- In a big pot boil water and baking soda. Place bread in pit and boil for 30 seconds on each side.
- Mix an egg with a tablespoon of water and brush over the boiled pretzel then sprinkle with flakey salt.
- Bake at 375°F until deep brown, for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!! Share your love with family and friends with this lovely treat:).
