Takin that fresh loaf of homemade sourdough sandwich bread with some just-made delicious jam campin in beautiful Priest Lake!!

Ok guys, this jam, is somethin’ else!! Not your average jam, this flavor-filled spread is “jam” packed with elevated flavors and plenty of nutrients to complete that beautiful slice of freshly homemade sourdough ❤️

My sweet niece helping me 🙂

Ok fine, or to make that sad lookin peice of white bread from the pantry look more exciting, we get it 😉…

Wait, “garden” huckleberries?! Yup, either you know what these little beauties are or your like me when I first saw them, “whaaaat?! Are they edible?!” 😂. So I saw these little plants poppin up everywhere on the farm and I thought to my self, what the heck are these?! Using our technology now days, (wow I feel so old saying that 😂) I just snapped a pic of the plant and it said it’s a garden huckleberry, so of course I wondered if it’s edible!! Surely enough it was and next steps were, “what do I do with them?! 🤔 “.

The garden huckleberry is native to Africa and is a solanaceous berry in the tomato family. It’s high in the antioxidant: anthocyanin, and has vitamin C, iron, and potassium!!

Plums…

Yup, plums, fresh, flavor-packed plums locally grown. Plums contain many nutrients such as Vitamins C, A, K, and potassium, copper, and manganese.

We grabbed some plums from the local farmers market, and when I was trying to figure out how the heck to cook these garden huckleberries that popped outta no where, I thought let’s add these beautiful plums in there!! Why not?! They give lots of flavor, and the bite you get with the tartness and sweetness, I thought they’d go well…

Now the next day we were going camping, and I made a couple sourdough sandwich loaves and I thought, I gotta bring some of this jam… and now you know why I don’t have any other pics of the jam but what I snapped at the campsite 😂
