How to “spruce” up your greenhouse {fun ways to bring life into your greenhouse walls with paint and texture}

It all started when I was done with looking at these boring old walls… everywhere else was filled with joyful lively plants and windows while the work bench was sided by sad, lonely, walls…

So one day I thought, “what can I do with this borin’ old wall?!” Then wondering how I can cover the texture of the walls, I thought “dry wall compound!!” we had just done some drywall compound in between live edge logs on the wall of our cottage, so I knew what I was up against 😂. I mean, it’s like icing cake that does melt!! How fun?! Wohoo!! (All tho cannot be enjoyed my consumption sadly)

So I begin by sketching up some blossoms, fruits, etc… (I’ll have a list of everything thing I did)

Then using a piping bag, (see I told you it’s like cake 😂) I piped along the pencil sketches…

Then I filled in around them to make it not so “plywood-y”

To keep the drywall from crumbling, I used an enamel paint!!

And laaa!! A fun textured wall!!

List of plants used in textured wall:

  • Chrysanthemum
  • Ginger
  • Book Choy
  • Borage
  • Tomato
  • Radish
  • Bitter melon
  • Carrot
  • Garlic
  • Prickly pear
  • Broccoli
  • Dill
  • Avocado

Ok, then I was like, this other wall with just a few strips of wood could be a lot happier with some paint…

So taking off the batten, I started sketching up some flowers!! I was trying to find some reference paintings or drawings, then I thought “why not use photos I’ve taken of blossoms and flowers”. So the search begun through my 10k+ photos… coming to 7 different flowers, I called that enough 👌🏼. Here are the “OG’s”…

Time to blast some worship music and get to work, oh how calming and connecting this was in a quite time to grow closer with God surrounded by His beauty!! ❤️

Note to self, I would have painted the black first if I were to do this again…

Ta-da!! A fun happy wall for your greenhouse 😄

Hope this has brought some inspiration to your hideaway 😉

Farm livin’ ❤️
